On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, Paratransit Operator Arthur Trimble was driving a Paratransit vehicle when he noticed a fellow passenger having a seizure. Without hesitation, Arthur quickly sprang into action, helping the female passenger and protecting her from harm during the seizure. Arthur's heroic actions not only saved the passenger's life but also showed the power of “Connecting the Community” and the impact one person can have in a critical moment.
In times of crisis, it is easy to feel helpless and overwhelmed, but as Arthur demonstrated, even small actions can make a big difference. Whether it's helping a stranger in need or simply being a kind and supportive presence in our community, we all have the power to connect with and uplift those around us. Trimble's compassionate and caring actions towards a passenger earned him the Champions of Safety Award. This honor is bestowed upon employees who identify a safety hazard, help to solve it, assist with investigations that don't take place as part of everyday activities, or contribute to overall safety initiatives to reduce collisions, incidents, and injuries.
