CLEVELAND – Rail customers of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will see several changes this month. On Sunday, Sept. 11, hours of operation change for some light-rail trains.
- Blue Line and Green Line schedules have changed. Frequency is the same but new timetables reflect the new schedule.
- Green Line service will end after 9 p.m.
- Waterfront Line service will end after 7 p.m., except when later service is needed for Browns games.
- Waterfront Line timetable shows weekday frequency at 15 minutes during rush hour and 30 minutes mid-day.
Public hearings on these changes were held earlier this year.
Another change occurs the weekend of Sept. 10-11, when 66R buses replace Red Line trains between Tower City Station and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. RTA will use this time to inspect the Cuyahoga River Viaduct, work on the new Brookpark Rapid Station, and perform tests on the Hopkins Airport tunnel.
66R buses will pick up at all stops along the Red Line between the Airport and Tower City at the specially marked 66R bus stop signs. The stop at the Airport is located in the Limo Lot, between the Smart Parking Garage and the Terminal.
The stop at Tower Cty is located on Public Square in front of the JACK Casino. Please allow additional travel time, especially if you are making connections.
Regular Red Line rail service will be restored with the start of service Monday, Sept. 12.
The Red Line between Tower City and Windermere will operate as regularly scheduled.
