RTA rolls out Month of Merry Holiday Promotions

Nov 10, 2021

CLEVELAND, OH – To celebrate a year of connecting the community, the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is rolling out a Month of Merry with a county-wide holiday promotion, including a gift card give-a-way that begins November 15 and runs through December 23.

RTA is also decorating Holiday Trains that will serve the Red, Blue and Green Lines. Also new this year is a Downtown Holly Jolly Trolley in service and on display in time for Cleveland’s Winterfest beginning on November 27.

I think it is safe to say, after a difficult 18 months, we are all looking for a reason to celebrate the season, and we at RTA are pleased to do our small part to help add some cheer to the holidays,” said RTA CEO and General Manager India Birdsong.

RTA is also promoting the opportunity to give to local charities, with links on the RTA landing page to give to United Way, Salvation Army, Shoes and Clothes for Kids, Toys for Tots, and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.

“The Month of Merry holiday promotion is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to our employees, our customers and this generous community in any way we can,” Birdsong said. “We want to help lead the way in giving back to the local charities that this community has relied upon for many years.”

Starting Nov. 15, visit www.rideRTA.com/merry to learn how to win 4-packs of All Day passes and gift cards to local vendors, restaurants, and venues. Participants are asked to follow @rideRTAcleveland on Instagram for a chance to win a prize. Submit an answer to the daily seasonal question between the hours of 10 a.m. and 10 p.m., and the winner will be chosen at random and announced on RTA’s Instagram story at 9:30 a.m. the following day. The winner will also be contacted via Direct Message from the RTA account.

“RTA’s mission is to connect the community, and now, more than ever, this community has come to rely on us to transport our customers to the places they want or need to get to the most as safely, conveniently and as efficiently as possible,” Birdsong said.
