The Healthy Business Council of Ohio Again Honors GCRTA

Jan 8, 2025

The Healthy Business Council of Ohio (HBCO) for the second year in a row has recognized The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) as a winner for healthy worksite practices as part of their Healthy Worksite Recognition Program. In 2023, HBCO honored GCRTA as a Gold Level winner, and in 2024, as a Platinum Level winner.

The program annually recognizes Ohio employers that have demonstrated a commitment to their employees’ wellbeing by providing comprehensive worksite health promotion and wellness programs. This designation program acknowledges efforts made to improve overall employee health, enhance productivity, and ensure a healthy work environment.

All applications were reviewed by HBCO and evaluated using objective criteria. Four levels of high achievement were awarded in 2024 – Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum, with GCRTA being recognized with HBCO’s highest achievement level of Platinum.

“I’m so proud of our Benefits team and Wellness Committee for always innovating and pushing wellness through various creative and educational events and promotions throughout the year,” said GCRTA Deputy General Manager, Human Resources, George F. Fields.  “Their collective efforts provided relevant knowledge and information that improved the health literacy of GCRTA employees in making well-informed health related decisions. I’m excited for the team to have been honored with Gold in 2023, and now being honored with Platinum in 2024.”

HBCO has announced that 84 Ohio employers have been recognized for healthy worksite practices in 2024, and that an awards ceremony for all 2024 winners will be held virtually on February 5, 2025.
