CLEVELAND -- Effective immediately, West Side Red Line ticket vending machines are accepting cash only this week for rail service provided by the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA).
In anticipation of large crowds attending Tribe games this week, RTA staff will be on hand at key stations to assist with purchasing tickets. Please have cash available.
In addition, RTA has now made available a pilot program for a free mobile ticketing app that lets riders skip the lines and pay from their mobile phones. The RTA CLE app can be downloaded from the IPhone App store and Android Google Play.
Riders can add their credit card information to pay for their pass on the secure RTA CLE account. Riders can then use their mobile ticket to board transit or store their ticket for later use. When exiting the Rapid at Tower City, riders simply show their pass on their phone to the booth attendant at the turnstyles.
