Greater Cleveland Regional Transit (GCRTA) Authority’s General Manager and Chief Executive Officer India L. Birdsong Terry received the 2024 Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) Northeast Ohio Leadership Award during a special breakfast presentation event at the Great Lakes Science Center on September 17, 2024.
The WTS Leadership Award recognizes women who live as a role model in the transportation industry, advocate on behalf of others, support the goals of the WTS organization, and expand opportunities for women and minorities in the transportation industry through professional development, mentoring and strategic positioning.
"I am thrilled to accept this award; on behalf of the exceptional work our team is doing here at GCRTA,” said GCRTA General Manager and Chief Executive Officer India L. Birdsong Terry. “As we continue to intently listen to our customers' needs, our future gets brighter with opportunity for improved customer experience, bolstered by enhanced workforce development opportunities, training and safe operations.”
As the recipient of the WTS Northeast Ohio chapter’s award, Mrs. Terry’s nomination will be submitted to compete for the Women of the Year Award at the international level in January 2025.
WTS, is an international organization that supports, advances, and connects women who work in transportation, advocates for shaping transportation to support the public good.
