The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) is pleased to announce that the 2024 Rail Conference for the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) is taking place in Cleveland, Ohio, June 2-5, 2024. GCRTA will serve as the host agency.

This annual conference is being held at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown and serves as a flagship event for train enthusiasts, mobility advocates and public transit professionals alike.  Highlights of the 3-day event include industry workshops, technical tours, and ample networking opportunities.

"APTA is thrilled to bring the 2024 Rail Conference to Cleveland, one of the most iconic and transit-friendly cities in the country.  Hosting a conference here, where the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame meets the vibrant West Side Market, is sure to invigorate every conference attendee with great sights, sounds, shopping, food and, of course, public transportation," said APTA President and CEO Paul P. Skoutelas. "We want to thank the GCRTA for their generosity in hosting this important event for our industry.  Cleveland 's rich history in advancing passenger rail also makes it an ideal location for industry leaders to convene, share insights, and shape the future of rail transit across the nation."

“As the largest transit authority in Ohio with passenger rail, we are delighted to host this event, and welcome thousands of visitors to Greater Cleveland,” said GCRTA General Manager and Chief Executive Officer India L. Birdsong Terry.  “I want to thank APTA for organizing another excellent learning and networking experience for our industry partners --- the mobility future of our region is bright.”
