About this Project

Furnish, deliver, install, test and commission a 2 MW prefabricated traction power substation. The new traction power system equipment shall include but not be limited to the following: AC & DC switchgear, DC isolation switches, rectifier, negative return system, and a rectifier transformer. Control and monitoring systems shall include but not be limited to Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, Closed Circuit Television, access control, and security.

  • Replacement of antiquated equipment that has reached the end of its service life.
  • Improve voltage stability along the eastern end of the GCRTA Red Line.
  • Improve the efficiency and reliability of the rail system’s electrical power.
  • Funding Source: Grants OH-2019-037-307, OH-2019-037-337, OH-2020-044-307, and OH-2021-050-337
  • Construction Cost: $7,194,208.00
