Board member: Parma Heights Mayor Marie Gallo

Marie Gallo is the first female Mayor of the City of Parma Heights.  She took office on January 1, 2022.  She has more than 20 years administrative and legislative experience.

RTA Experience

  • Mayor Marie Gallo was appointed to serve on the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority Board of Trustees by the Cuyahoga County Mayors and City Managers Association.
  • Joined the RTA Board in March 2025.

Accomplishments

  • Spearheaded the completion of a retention basin at Parma Heights Nathan Hale Park in response to massive flooding issues in certain key areas of the community, working closely with local, regional, state and federal agencies.
  • Led efforts for the construction of a new multi-million-dollar library in the City of Parma Heights working collaboratively with officials from the Cuyahoga County Public Library system and a team of architects and engineers.
  • Re-instituted a long dormant street repair program in the City, working with federal and state agencies to secure the needed monies to fund street repairs.
  • While serving as the Director of Human Resources for the City of North Olmsted, she assisted with the oversight of over 200 full-time employees and multiple city departments including police, fire and public service. Her duties included negotiating labor contracts, advising the Mayor and Directors on personnel issues, overseeing the City Senior Center, Division of Youth and Family Services, Information Technology and City’s Building Department
