What is Baby on Board?
It's an initiative aimed at reducing transportation costs for mothers, fathers, and families living in Cuyahoga County and connect to family neighborhood services. Parents are encouraged to call the navigation phone number 216-658-1355 to be linked with services in order to qualify for a bus pass and more.
How is the program funded?
Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA), in partnership with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, received a grant from the Ohio Transit Partnership Program through the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for the Baby on Board program. A portion of these funds will be used to provide bus passes to pre- and post-natal families in Cuyahoga County aimed to reduce barriers to public transportation in order to provide for a healthy baby and family. Another portion of these funds will be used to upgrade key bus stop locations in locations focused around medical and family services. Upgrades will include larger shelters, solar lighting, and additional seating for families.
