CLEVELAND -- The 100,000 people headed to Little Italy this weekend for the 120th annual celebration of the Feast of the Assumption do not have to give parking a second thought.
Just use Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA).
It's a direct ride on the Red Line to the Little Italy-University Circle Station, about one block from the Holy Rosary Church, the epicenter of the four-day celebration.
"Parking is free at the RTA Rapid Stations, and the access to Little Italy couldn't be any more convenient than on the Red Line," said RTA CEO and General Manager Joe Calabrese.
During this time, Mayfield Road is closed from Euclid Avenue to Cleveland Heights, and the No.9 Mayfield bus will be rerouted, Calabrese added.
Parking is extremely limited in Little Italy during the Feast.
RTA's Little Italy Station opened in August 2015, just a few days before the festival that year, and ridership has grown every year since.
Festival hours this year
Wednesday, August 15 – Noon to 11 pm
Thursday, August 16 – 6 pm to 11 pm
Friday, August 17 – 6 pm to Midnight
Saturday, August 18 - Noon to Midnight
To purchase your RTA ticket:
Cost is just $5.50 for an All-Day Pass and can be purchased at any Rapid station. Or, use RTA's mobile ticketing app for the most convenient access to tickets and passes, which can be purchased in advance and stored on your phone.
