RTA's Kids Ride Free program is posting record ridership.
Tens of thousands of Greater Cleveland families are taking advantage of this great offer so far this summer, with ridership for the Kids Ride Free program now up 50% over last year.
Up to three children, age 12 and under, can ride any Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) bus or train free, when accompanied by a fare-paying adult. The program runs through Saturday, August 11.
"We're halfway through the second year of this summer promotion, and so far, we've tallied nearly 40,000 rides. That's up 50% from last year," said RTA CEO and General Manager, Joe Calabrese.
"There's still pleanty of summer left, and that means there's still a lot of time to take more trips and and to take advantage of all the fun Cleveland has to offer," Calabrese said. "With kids, half the fun is getting there."
With an RTA fare card, customers can enjoy discounts at more than 40 area establishments including:
- Natural History Museum
- Great Lakes Science Center
- MetroPark Zoo
- Botanical Garden
- Cleveland Aquarium
- Cleveland Cinemas
Eateries include:
- Happy Dog
