CLEVELAND, OH --- The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is restoring service on the Blue/Green Line effective Sunday, October 3 after an eight-week shutdown due to a track construction project between Buckeye-Woodhill Station and Shaker Square. Customers can expect a smoother ride with the completion of the project.
During the project, RTA’s engineering and construction team replaced:
- 7,000 rail road ties
- 29,600 e-clip fasteners
- 54,800 spikes
- 27,400 feet of rail
- 12 turnouts
Project cost was $8 million. The last time this section of track was repaired was in the early 1980's.
