Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) Community Immunity Bus is Beach-Bound July 11 for Cleveland Drug Court’s Yoga on the Beach.
GCRTA will collaborate with the Cleveland Department of Public Health (CDPH) to provide free onsite COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots at the Greater Cleveland Drug Court’s annual Yoga on the Beach event on Monday, July 11, 2022, 11:00AM to 1:00PM.
Those interested in COVID-19 vaccination, may walk-up to the GCRTA Community Immunity Bus, which will be parked near the beach house at Edgewater Park Centennial Plaza, 7600 Cleveland Memorial Shoreway, Cleveland, OH 44102. Pre-registration is optional at gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov or by calling 216-664-2222.
This is the second annual Yoga on the Beach event hosted by the Cleveland Drug Court. “We are excited to bring the Community Immunity Bus back for the 2nd installment of Yoga on the Beach,” said Natoya Walker-Minor, Deputy General Manager of External Affairs and Administration. “This joint venture builds on last year’s success and provides a safe and convenient option not only for those starting the vaccination process, but also those seeking to boost their protection.”
CDPH medical staff will provide the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccine and boosters to adults and children, ages 5 and up, at no charge aboard the GCRTA Community Immunity Bus. Anyone younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian in order to receive the vaccine.
“Events such as these, that promote wellness, are at the core of public health,” said CDPH Director Brian Kimball. “Similar to how yoga can increase your strength, vaccination trains your body to withstand disease and helps to prevent the serious short and long-term consequences that can come from COVID-19 infection.”
The RTA Community Immunity Bus is made possible by ODOT funding in effort to make the COVID-19 vaccine accessible to multiple communities in the greater Cleveland area.
