“Connecting our community to vital services is a priority for Cleveland Public Library,” said Harriette Parks, Chief of Public Services at Cleveland Public Library. “We’re proud to partner with the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority and the Cleveland Department of Public Health to expand access to COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots. We hope this effort will keep our community safe and healthy.”

“Public libraries are hubs for a host of resources,” said CDPH Director Brian Kimball. “Our collaboration with the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority and Cleveland Public Library brings one of the most effective resources we have against COVID-19, vaccinations, to five neighborhood branches.”

According to the latest CDPH Weekly Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Surveillance Report, more than 207,000 Cleveland residents have started or completed the primary vaccination series. Children as young as 5 years old are now eligible to receive a booster dose after completing the primary series.

“We hope residents take advantage of this no-cost, convenient opportunity to protect themselves and loved ones against COVID-19,” adds Kimball.

“Partnering with Cleveland Public Library and CDPH is a unique opportunity to provide access to those seeking to get vaccinated and boosted,” said Natoya Walker-Minor, Deputy General Manager of External Affairs and Administration for GCRTA.  “We recognize the benefit of public service partnerships and appreciate the synergy Cleveland Public Library and CDPH have brought to this effort for the communities we each serve.”

The RTA Community Immunity Bus is made possible by Ohio Department of Transportation funding to make the COVID-19 vaccine accessible to multiple communities in the greater Cleveland area. For a complete schedule of the bus tour at Cleveland Public Library visit cpl.org.
